I started my passion for drums at the tender age of 6 in the crowded suburbs of Los Angeles. After my banging on pots and pans didn’t let up, my parents decided it was time for a drum pad and some lessons. Six years of study followed with some of the areas finest teachers. My first professional paying gig was at my elementary schools talent show playing “Stairway to Heaven” which I won first place. After that I was hooked. Throughout the eighties, I did my share of recording, and playing with local punk rock bands Mad Parade, China White & M.I.A. But it wasn’t until my roommate turned me on to Stevie Ray Vaughan’s’ first record that my focus took a turn to the blues and perfecting my shuffle. That led me to hooking up with an up coming blues band from Long Beach, The Rhythm Lords. After six years, 3 records and a rigorous tour schedule, I got a bona fide shot – an audition with Actor/Rockabilly/Country/Americana artist James Intveld, a gig I’ve been enjoying since 1996. This gig has taken me all over the world, and more importantly, provided me with an opportunity to work with stellar musicians, backing one of the most prolific songwriters of our generation. I’ve also had the honor of playing drums behind James Burton, Matthew and Gunnar Nelson, Nick 13 and Sweethearts of the Rodeo. When I’m not on the road, I gig and record with a variety of artists including Rosie Flores, Michael Ubaldini, Nikki Hill, Paul Pigat and Jinx Jones.
